Winter Garden, FL

Winter Garden Roofing Company

Winter Garden is really two roofing markets in one city — a historic downtown core with roofs decades old, and some of the fastest new-home growth in west Orange County. We work both.

The neighborhood

Historic downtown, plus new construction growing fast to the west

Winter Garden's downtown — the area around Plant St, the West Orange Trail, and the historic district — has homes going back to the early-to-mid 1900s alongside a wave of bungalow-style and craftsman-influenced infill built in the past couple decades to match the district's character. Roofs here range from long-overdue replacements on genuinely old housing stock to newer shingle systems on infill homes designed to look period-appropriate.

Move west and south toward Hamlin, Horizon West, and the newer master-planned communities, and it's a completely different picture: large-scale new construction from the 2010s and 2020s, almost all architectural shingle, mostly still under original roof and closer to routine maintenance than replacement. A roofing company that only knows one half of Winter Garden misses the other half's real needs — we quote both correctly.

Storm & wind risk

What Winter Garden roofs deal with, old and new

Age matters here more than almost anywhere else on our service map — the same storm hits a 1940s roof and a 2022 roof very differently.

Older roofs, less remaining margin

A roof already decades old in the historic core has far less structural margin left when wind or hail hits — what would be a minor repair on a newer roof can mean full replacement on one that's already near end of life. We inspect older Winter Garden roofs with that in mind.

Summer & hurricane-season storms

Winter Garden gets the same Central Florida pattern as the rest of west Orange County — frequent summer thunderstorms and periodic hurricane-season wind and hail. New construction generally handles it well under current code; older roofs are where we find the real damage.

New construction still needs real inspection

A newer roof in Hamlin or Horizon West being "still under warranty" doesn't mean storm damage can't happen — it means any damage found should be documented properly so it doesn't turn into a bigger, uncovered problem down the line.

Permitting

City of Winter Garden or Orange County — we confirm which applies

Roofing permits in Winter Garden can fall under either the City of Winter Garden's own building department (for addresses inside city limits, including most of the historic downtown core) or Orange County Building Safety (for unincorporated areas nearby, including parts of the newer growth corridor). We confirm jurisdiction by address before filing, then pull whichever permit applies and schedule the required final inspection — that's on us, not something you have to track down.

If storm damage and an insurance claim are part of the job, we document everything and write the scope to a format your carrier's adjuster will recognize. See our Insurance Claims page for the full process, and where our role as your contractor stops short of acting as a public adjuster.

What we bring to every Winter Garden job
  • Correct permit jurisdiction confirmed before filing
  • Experience with both historic-district and new-construction roofs
  • Photo-documented inspection before any work begins
  • Written scope and timeline before you sign anything
